First of all, I think it was a great experiences for me, more or less it made me like staying in a conference, because all of us were giving opinion and debating the points. I like this type of event, to improve my speaking skill and for me, it is the real university lifestyle in my imaginary.
About the case study, I strongly believed that Symbian will be totally out of this race soon. What do we think about when talk about Symbian? Firstly,I will say Nokia Smartphone and it is lag. I don't care how fast or how much improvement for the newest released phone of Symbian OS phone, at least it is the public perception. While for the latest news about this issue, even Symbian's biggest shareholder, Nokia has stopped using Symbian OS and cooperate with Microsoft to produce so-called Windows Phone. It is concluded lack of innovation in IT market would bring you down in supremely short time no matter how long you dominated the market share before. While for the success of IOS, I would say the biggest contribution would come from Steve Jobs. I don't really know how much he contributed on the phone features, but at least his kind of high profile has given anticipation to Apple fans each time he stood on stage. Actually we could found out Iphone was not prefect, each time the new released phones could came out with several problems for instance the latest one,low battery life. Anyway, due to the impression planted by Steve Jobs on public, the mind of perfection of Apple products could hardly modified, at least not now.
Google Android, I don't know much about it, but bunch of phone manufacturer are using this OS and I know I need to own it in the future. This is a trend. Sadly I am still using Symbian phone. I could hardly imagine the future development of this open source OS. Bunch of phone manufacturer, network service provider are backing it up. Everyone has the chance to build it and make it even better. Let's see how it fight with Apple.
That's all with my opinions after reading the study case! Thanks!
