Disadvantages of Fingerprint
Here I come again, let's continue with another title.
I know everyone is looking forward to it, Ya, that's right!!
It's Disadvantages of Fingerprint!

It's Disadvantages of Fingerprint!
Fingerprint scanning has inherent problems, for instance in cold climates it might be too cold for fingerprints to register on a heat sensor or a finger may be too dry to close a capacitive circuit. Further, the (FAR) false accept rate and (FRR) false reject rate of fingerprint scanning compared to other biometric standards is somewhat misleading due to the fact that much of the data comes from biased vendors. Less favorable when compared to iris recognition or palm print scanning.
False Readings
Biometric systems---especially lower cost systems---are prone to errors, including failing to identify an authorized person and incorrectly identifying unauthorized people.

Advantages of Fingerprint
Dear all, Greeting from GeForce..
Today, I would like to share you guys something in my assignment, that is compatible with my title today,
Advantages of Fingerprint!
Fingerprint identification is widely treated as highly accurate and very reliable since the because statistical chance of two people on Earth having identical fingerprints is very low.
Added Security
Accuracy
Biometric technology comes in many different forms, from facial and eye scanners to voice recognition systems, but none have proven as accurate as fingerprint biometrics, which is why it has become the most widely used biometric security measure. In the off chance that something goes wrong and the reader won't accept your fingerprint, there is usually a backup method of access such as a password or key. Friday, 23 December 2011

Harvard Business Case Study by Sam
I have been reading the case several times before the day has finally came. Anyway, I still found it hard to express my own opinion when given the actual questions.
First of all, I think it was a great experiences for me, more or less it made me like staying in a conference, because all of us were giving opinion and debating the points. I like this type of event, to improve my speaking skill and for me, it is the real university lifestyle in my imaginary.
About the case study, I strongly believed that Symbian will be totally out of this race soon. What do we think about when talk about Symbian? Firstly,I will say Nokia Smartphone and it is lag. I don't care how fast or how much improvement for the newest released phone of Symbian OS phone, at least it is the public perception. While for the latest news about this issue, even Symbian's biggest shareholder, Nokia has stopped using Symbian OS and cooperate with Microsoft to produce so-called Windows Phone. It is concluded lack of innovation in IT market would bring you down in supremely short time no matter how long you dominated the market share before.

Finally, it's is 21/12/2011. The time for section 5 and 6 to have a discussion and presentation on the HBS case study. It was about Symbian, Apple and Google, the mobile operating system. Let's give a round applause to GeForce and I-Virus. We're the teammates during our HBS case study and it's totally show our team is proactive enough in this learning session.
It was a very proud moment, and this case study had made us understand more about Symbian, Apple and Google too.

My opinion on this case study is hard to dominate one industry, we must know that when there is competition, there will be improvement. IT is a field that growing fast, so we must keep up the trend and understand what we can offer to our customer. Nowadays, we should keep our customer loyalty. For example, Apple customer is loyal to Apple products. So, we should maintain our each customer and this called Quality Engagement.

the day has finally come, its 21st December, its our turn for the HBS discussion session. The discussion started at 2pm supposed to end at 5pm, but due to the passion of presenting our points, we wrap up the session at 530pm.
In the end of the day, we learned so much about Symbian company and we also given the chance to answer the question " Would you sack the boss of Symbian? why so?" lol, of cause, in my opinion, we certainly should do so, because, Apple and Google have been in the market for so many years and Symbian has yet to find a way to defend itself. Quoted from my lecturer, if someone who has failed to contribute for the company, like Symbian's big shots has failed to fight against the Apple and Google "shockwave", they should employ someone who is more capable. It helped us to realize the importance and the power of being innovative and creative. We could see this from Apple and Google, though they were the new comers in the smartphone world, they managed to overtake Symbian who has been in the business for decades.
Anyway, our group(GeForce) joined venture with I-virus in the session. At the beginning, our lecturers explained how the discussion session going to flow and every group was giving a question to answer. We got Question 8, which asked us to present the SWOT analysis of Symbian and also comment on the company situation of Symbian. We were given 30mins to discuss the answers among us group members. After that, we started our session with the group who got the first question. We had to wait for our turn though. We heard lots of opinions, comments, point of views and ideas, all of them are inspiring and we learned a lot through their presentations. Besides, we also given chance to give our own idea for other questions after each presentation, its a war in there, literally, because all of us were fighting to be the best team!
Its our turn to present, and we started our presentation with the SWOT analysis, its mainly about the Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Thread for Symbian company. Next would be our opinion on the company.

What is a Fingerprint ?
Fingerprints are patterns created by the elevation of pores in lines.
The elevated lines that form the fingerprint the ridges, and the lowered parts in between the ridges are called the valleys.
The shapes made by the ridges create a number of points, which are known by different names.
The point where a ridge breaks is called an ending point, and the point where a ridge divides into two is a bifurcation point. Two other special points are the core and the delta.
The core is the point with the most variant changes in the directions of the lines, and the delta is the point where the ridges spread into three directions.
Fingerprints are created in the inner skin, beneath the outer layers of skin, and do not change unless a person's inner skin is damaged.
